About the event
From Monday 24 August and Friday 28 August, Building Equality - construction’s LGBT+ alliance – is inviting everyone to the largest show of virtual LGBT+ inclusion the industry has ever seen.
Building Equality are hosting ALT. MCR Pride to showcase our community through online webinars, exclusive author readings, vigils, positive speakers and competitions, all highlighting the experiences of LGBT+ individuals. ALT. MCR Pride is open to all, LGBT+ and allies, Building Equality members and otherwise.

Photo Competition – Winner announced, Friday 28 August
Every year Manchester Pride’s theme inspires legendary outfits, make-up and accessories!  And that’s not changing! We want to see you - bring it to our runway! This year’s theme is March for Peace, and the competition is on with prizes for the photos that bring us joy, harmony and serenity.
The rules are simple, share your favourite past look, or create a brand new one – think full outfit, or make-up, design a banner, involve your pet, you name it we want to see it.
Post your entry on Twitter between Mon 24 and Thurs 27 August or alternatively send your entry to luke.ives@jacobs.com. Don’t forget to @BuildingEqLGBT and #BuildingEqualityPride / #ALTMCRPride- peace of cake!
We may not be marching together this year, but we are still showing our pride, virtually. LGBT+ or ally, Building Equality member or otherwise you can join in and fly the rainbow flag by signing-up to any of our free events, sharing them with colleagues and on social media with the hastags #BuildingEqualityPride and #ALTMCRPride – show you support to the LGBT+ community and have fun doing so.
