Our Big National Quiz Night

Hitting the high notes with camp, chaos and quiz night glory.
In true Eurovision style, Building Equality’s National Quiz Night was a dazzling, slightly chaotic, and joyfully inclusive celebration of IDAHOBIT, the built environment, and community.
Held simultaneously across six cities on Friday 17 May, the quiz brought together hundreds of people in London, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle for an evening of camaraderie, creativity, and (somewhat controversial) trivia.
From picture rounds that sparked passionate debate – “A bridge is not a building!” – to brilliantly pun-filled team names, the energy was infectious.

The event was inspired and led by Steven, who brought the concept to Building Equality’s 10-year planning meeting. He was supported by an incredible team of local hosts and volunteers: Megan, Annie, Kenneth, Enlud, Rachael, and John, with national scoring logistics expertly managed by Vicky.
A heartfelt thank you to Arcadis, Mott MacDonald, Clyde & Co, and Troup Bywaters + Anders for hosting venues and providing food and drink.
The night was more than just fun — it was a powerful reminder of what can happen when we come together to celebrate inclusion in our industry.
